Tuning Pianos and Men
"Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred [men of God] met together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be..."

General Patton and Glory
In the movie Patton, George C. Scott portrays the legendary general - a man seeking his destiny in a world that has devalued his warrior instincts. At the end of the movie we hear the controversial, quixotic general recounting the glory of the warriors of the past whom he so reveres:

"For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting."

The only glory that is never fleeting is that of the Lord Jesus Christ. "And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified." Romans 8:39
God "Sharpens" Men in Springfield VA
WACMM's 15th Iron Sharpens Iron Conference in the past seven years drew men from over 800 men from 100 different churches in the  region. They heard one of the nation's prominent young pastors Darrin Patrick. Gregg Harris (pastor, evangelist and father of seven) and his oldest son Joshua (lead pastor of Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg MD) did an on-stage interview covering a wide range of topics and issues..

Sixteen different seminars were overflowing and the Iron Men Praise Band led the remarkably diverse gathering in worship throughout the day. Dave Brown, WACMM Director, concluded the day interviewing Pastor Tom Joyce (former Top Gun aviator and survivor of the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon) and Tom's son Justin, a recent wounded warrior in Afghanistan, about their riveting stories of faith under fire. You can purchase any or all of the nineteen recorded sessions in MP3 format at www.myconferencemp3.com
