"What is 'rule-igion'?

        

"We know the word "religion" is belief in and worship of God. "Rule-igion" is the idea that a right relationship with God is earned through rule-keeping. "Rule-igion" says that we have to climb our way up to God. In other words, it's through our performance and obedience and good deeds that we earn God's love and favor and blessing. We follow the rules, we live a good life and that puts God in our debt.

Boys should be able to describe what a godly man looks like, having watched one from the time they were a little boy. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for most.  For many boys, a godly man is something like Superman or Big Foot.  It is not something that can be grasped...

We're supposed to flee from things that can kill us. Active volcanoes, oncoming traffic, and snakes come to mind. So should sexual immorality.

To Christians in a sexually confused culture, Paul issued this clear order: "Flee from sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18). That is, flee from the dangerous enjoyment of sexual pleasure outside of God's wise design for its enjoyment in marriage.

Robert Guerrero is the current interim WBC welterweight champion, a former IBF Super Featherwight world champion, a former interim WBA and WBO lightweight champion and a former two-time IBF featherweight champion. Two recently released baseball movies far exceeded the critics' box office expectations. Football's getting in on the action with a movie in the works on the life of the Baltimore Colts' legendary Johnny Unitas. Here's an update on all of them.

42: True Story of an American Legend - This Jackie Robinson biopic topped the box office when it  opened April 12 and may gross over $100 million. TRAILER The Billy Graham Center landed an exclusive interview with Robinson's former teammate Lee Pfund. Produced by Unitas' son Joe, the bio pic is based on the New York Times bestseller "The Life and Times of Johnny Unitas". Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco plays Unitas.
