The Value of Custom Framing
Custom framing provides the best design selections for every piece of art. Its goal is not to match room decor but to enhance the art wherever it will hang. It allows you to choose all the framing materials so the end result is exactly what you want.
Custom framing can also help you preserve items of family history or most anything else you want to display, from family photos to personal memorabilia to children’s art. It can preserve family treasures, helping them to keep their monetary or sentimental value.
Compared to custom framing, mass-produced frames made with inexpensive materials usually don’t hold up well over time. The art can fade faster, and the frames can warp, finishes can change, and corners can loosen — all problems that can send the framed piece to a garage sale bin after a few years.
Custom frames are physically assembled one at a time, built to your specifications by a person. It is, in essence, handmade furniture for the wall — made in the U.S.A.! Quality custom framing will also outlast carpeting and furniture as well as cars, home electronics, and appliances. It can be passed from generation to generation and still look as good as the day it was made.
The money you invest on quality custom framing, in fact, will far outlast most other ways in which you might spend the same amount of money. It is money well spent. It can improve your life for years to come and will even enhance the lives of future generations.

March Artist:
Judith Carbine
For more than twenty years, Judith Carbine has captured the grandeur of the New England landscape and the beauty of spring and summer with her engaging plein air oil paintings. Some of her trademark subjects include the Cape Cod shoreline, inspirational gardens of Connecticut, and rolling fields of her home state of Vermont.
“Painting outdoors is an exciting and refreshing visual adventure. The challenge is to capture the splendor of nature with every painting,” said Ms. Carbine, who varies her palette with each location. “New England has some of the most magnificent landscapes in the country, and it’s an endless source of inspiration for me,” she explained.
A self-taught artist, Judith Carbine was greatly influenced by French and American Impressionism, and uses both paint and surface to convey her visual experience of the subject. Her painting is made through the devices of composition, color, and light.
“Judith is one of the area’s most celebrated artists and many of her previous exhibits have completely sold out,” said Tom Geary, owner of the Geary Gallery. “She continues to receive widespread acclaim for beautifully blended colors and a notable talent for capturing the nuances of New England. This exhibit is a collection of Judith’s finest works to date, and we’re happy to be bringing it to our Fairfield County community.”
Ms. Carbine continues to receive regional recognition and has received Best in Show awards from both the Chester, Vermont, Art Guild and the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council in New York. Her artwork has been profiled in American Artist magazine, and has been published in the books The Zen of Creative Painting and Strengthen Your Paintings with Dynamic Composition.

The Judith Carbine exhibit runs from March 1–31, and her paintings are available for acquisition. All are welcome, and admission is free.
