Congratulations to Philip Heap on the Celebration of 20 years as Pastor of Rockville, MD Church of the Nazarene
 Sunday, September 28 the Rockville, MD Church of the Nazarene celebrated their pastor and family of 20 years! Phil and Marcia Heap were honored and celebrated, as special greetings were given, memories shared, and videos glimpses of the past were viewed. We congratulate Pastor & Marcia Heap, and celebrate their commitment to the congregation and ministry to the community. Pastor Luis Yenco representing the Hispanic congregations honored the Heaps for their commitment to the Latino Pastors and Families and especially those preparing for ministry.

 Pastor Steve Merki Finishes Well as Retirement Service is Overwhelming
The St. Charles LifeStream Congregation celebrated the retirement of their pastor, Steve Merki on Sunday afternoon, September 28. Sharing with an overflow crowd in a borrowed worship center (South Potomac Church) Pastor Steve thanked God for grace in his life and ministry. Surrounded by his family and over 600 attendees, Steve Merki was honored by members of the local congregation, the State of Maryland, the communities around LifeStream, as well as the Mid-Atlantic District for his gift of service, compassion, leadership, and investment in people. To be as honest as possible, it was an awesome gathering, honoring the ministry of a great servant-leader.

Pastor Ron Parker (Salisbury, MD Cross Pointe) 
Announces his Retirement
On Sunday, September 21, Pastor Ron Parker announced to the Cross Pointe congregation that he plans to retire and complete his ministry in Salisbury on Sunday, January 4, 2015. The Parkers will have completed 23 years at Salisbury, their ministry marked
with a major relocation, additional building, and growth. We celebrate the ministry of Pastor Ron which is often described by parishioners as one of high integrity, and an undying commitment to the Word of God.

 Congratulations to the Rising Sun, MD Congregation on the Election of a New Pastor
Missionary Dana Howard (Quito, Ecuador) was elected on Sunday, September 28 as the new pastor at Rising Sun. Pastor Richard Moore retired February 29, 2012 and the congregation has had two Interim Pastors serving during these intervening months (Rev. Terry Sowden and Dr. Richard Wilson). Dana and Sherry Howard complete their missionary contract on December 10, and on December 11 will begin their new assignment as pastor at Rising Sun.

Strengths Finder Announcements for this Fall
Strengths Finder 101: The 101 Strengths Advocate course is a one-day workshop where you will learn more about your own top five strengths. You will also receive the tools an advocate needs to help others appreciate and apply their strengths.

Strengths Finder 201: The 201 Strengths Adviser course is for those who have completed Strengths 101 (or equivalent) and want to know and do more with their strengths. This two-day workshop focuses on the steps to becoming a strengths adviser so that you can help others understand and develop their God-given abilities. You will leave with all the materials you need to begin advising others around their strengths - whether at home, at work, or in a faith community.

The Bel Air, MD Church finished their VBS program and would like to donate their materials to anyone who can use them. It was a great VBS, and it is called Agency D3.
Bel Air also has 2 printers that they do not use anymore and would like to donate to anyone who wants them:
1. HP color LaserJet 4600 (the bypass tray needs a little work but rest works fine)
2. HP LaserJet 2300 black printer (works fine)

Nazarene Youth Conference event is coming July 8-12, 2015, in Louisville, KY!
This will be for students in high school the year of 2015 (current 8-12 graders). The students who go to NYC with a heart to hear God, return with hearts set on serving Him and the world.
