Requests for Proposal:
Upstate Cancer Center

The Upstate Cancer Center is looking for artwork with a "healing through nature" theme to enhance the building that is expected to be complete in spring 2014. The 110,000-square foot center, attached to Upstate University Hospital, will serve adult and pediatric patients.

Artwork should represent healing through nature, lend a sense of calm and peace to the Upstate Cancer Center, and fit in with the features of the building which include glass walls etched with ferns and surfaces that look like wood, cork and fields. The color palette includes sky blue and grass green and other natural colors.

The center is seeking two sculptures for the exterior of the building and lighted features or sculptures for the rooftop garden. In addition, about 125 two-dimensional pieces of unframed artwork are needed for the walls in corridors, exam, patient and treatment rooms. The dimensions are as small as 12 inches by 24 inches and up to 56 inches by 96 inches. Two-dimensional artwork could include paintings, photographs (in color, black and white or sepia), prints (etchings, lithography, seriography), collage or tapestry.

Professional artists can obtain a request for proposal by contacting Heidi Chapman at chapmanh@upstate.edu. More information can be found here. Submission deadline is Nov. 29.

We have one week to go for ENGAGE CNY surveys! We need to hear from ALL of the creative people and organizations in our service area and we have one week to do it!

Artists, Historians, Heritage Enthusiasts, and Creators
CNY Arts is working to create a comprehensive, geotagged database of individuals that actively pursue creative endeavors in the region. We are searching for all manner of creative individuals from painters to landscape architects, musicians to culinary artists, writers to designers.

Arts, Culture, History and Heritage Organizations
CNY Arts would like to hear from nonprofit organizations that focus on creative offerings of any kind. In addition to these mission-specific arts, culture, history, and heritage organizations, we also want to inventory non-arts organizations for whom creativity is a vital component of their offerings.*

*Organizations will be asked to provide attendance and financial information. Please have this information, or your most recent CDP, available when you take the survey. This information is for research purposes only and is not required but will greatly assist in developing a complete profile of the impact of arts, culture, history, and heritage on our community.
The Community Survey continues! Survey Ends October 15!
CNY Arts is seeking input from residents in Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego counties as part of our initiative to promote and develop the area's arts, culture, history, and heritage resources for both residents and tourists. CNY Arts' goal is to hear from at least 7500 voices between now and October 15. It takes less than eight minutes to make sure one of those voices is yours!
