Arts, Culture, History, and Heritage Provider Survey
ENGAGE CNY, as part of its regional cultural assessment, is amassing the first ever inventory of arts, culture, historic, and heritage resources in CNY Arts' six-county region.
Based upon these survey responses and additional branches of research, CNY Arts will create a map of the cultural assets across Central New York. This impressive picture of our industry - both organizations and individuals - will be used as a tool to advocate for increased government and private support. In addition, your perspective will be essential to the formation of a regional cultural plan that will have far-reaching implications on the future of arts and culture in our region.
Artists, Historians, Heritage Enthusiasts, and Creators
CNY Arts is working to create a comprehensive, geotagged database of individuals that actively pursue creative endeavors in the region. We are searching for all manner of creative individuals from painters to landscape architects, musicians to culinary artists, writers to designers.
Arts, Culture, History and Heritage Organizations
CNY Arts would like to hear from nonprofit organizations that focus on creative offerings of any kind. In addition to these mission-specific arts, culture, history, and heritage organizations, we also want to inventory non-arts organizations for whom creativity is a vital component of their offerings.*
*Organizations will be asked to provide attendance and financial information. Please have this information, or your most recent CDP, available when you take the survey. This information is for research purposes only and is not required but will greatly assist in developing a complete profile of the impact of arts, culture, history, and heritage on our community.

The Community Survey continues! Help us spread the word!
CNY Arts is seeking input from residents in Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego counties as part of our initiative to promote and develop the area's arts, culture, history, and heritage resources for both residents and tourists. CNY Arts' goal is to hear from at least 10,000 voices between now and October 1. It takes less than ten minutes to make sure one of those voices is yours!
This survey will help determine the future of arts, culture, heritage, and history in Central New York.
We need your help!
If you would like to help distribute the survey via email or physical copy in Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, or Oswego Counties, please email engage@cnyarts.org. Please include a rough estimate of the number of people you can reach and through what organization.

On My Own Time was created in 1974 by the Cultural Resources Council of Syracuse and Onondaga County (now CNY Arts), in cooperation with the Everson Museum of Art, to encourage local businesses, nonprofits, government, and civic organizations to identify, celebrate, and promote creativity among employees who are also artists 'on their own time'. Partnerships like these help the business and arts sectors in Central New York to discover that many of their goals overlap, and demonstrate how they can promote these mutual interests with shared projects. On My Own Time 2014 launches in March. To get more information on how your business can become involved, please visit www.mycnyarts.org, call Kara Greene at 315.935.6005 or e-mail omot@cnyarts.org.
