"The Play's the Thing"
by Bill DeLapp,
Syracuse New Times

(Syracuse, NY)  Central New York boasts a thriving community theater market, so it was a no-brainer that a trio of companies have decided to join forces in the spirit of cooperation. "The District" is the umbrella banner for this venture, which features artistic directors representing Appleseed Productions, Armory Square's Redhouse and Rarely Done Productions in an effort to work together on certain levels while also retaining the companies' own unique perspectives. Kind of like The Avengers movie, only without the superpowered egos that distract from taking care of business.

Send a Child to See The Adventures of Rudolph!

Rudolph logo
You can help make the holidays happier for children in need throughout Central New York!

This year CNY Arts has launched a fundraising campaign on indiegogo to raise funds for scholarships for students to attend the school day performances of The Adventures of Rudolph. These funds go directly towards schools that do not have much access to arts education because of reductions to school budgets. We have received many requests from schools to allow them to bring their students. Please help!

Your contribution will help a young student, class, or school to be able to have a transformational experience with their classmates and teachers. Not only is it exposure to the arts but also an engaging educational opportunity for learning outside of the classroom. It also provides the student dancers an opportunity to connect with young audiences; building a future generation of dancers, musicians, arts advocates and creative leaders.

To see the stated policy positions of President Barack Obama (D) and Governor Mitt Romney (R), visit the 2012 Presidential Candidates Arts Positions. To see how well your Congressional Representative and Senators have supported the arts over the last two years visit the House and Senate Report Cards
