AT&TB Installs CNC Press
American Truck and Trailer Body Company recently installed a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) Press at their Tracy, CA facility.
The press has 175 tons capacity and a 12ft bed with a CNC heavy duty back gage and ram. The bending tonnage is limited by the computer from data including die configuration, part size, material and thickness. Programs can be saved and stored for easy retrieval for repeat work.
The flexibility and size of this press enhance the company's capabilities and productivity.
  The NHRA has announced the newly created Drag A Friend To The Strip, a program offered exclusively for NHRA member tracks across the country. HOT ROD WIRING KITS

The test mule at Sacramento Vintage Ford was Bud Bryan's new '29 roadster pickup. Working under it is wiring guy and all-around guru, Ron Palmer....... or is it?
Outside of the world of original Ford Model T's, A's and V-8 restoration, most rodders have been unaware that inside the Sacramento Vintage Ford warehouse is a section called "production."
This is where staff utilizes ancient machines to produce concours - stock, cloth-covered wiring harnesses for early Fords that feature all the correct terminals, brass bullet connectors, and other OEM details.
Over the years, those "crossover" guys (lucky stiffs with both a restored Ford or two and a hot rod) would come to the counter at Sacramento Vintage Ford and ask why they couldn't get an old-school wiring harness for their hot rod.
Now it happens that one of the people who make the Ford harnesses is our friend of 40 years, Bud Bryan, one of the pivotal editors of Rod & Custom, a man who was part of the R&C team that got '70-era rodders to start thinking about Flatheads, traditional cars, and long-distance driving to events. After a rod hiatus of eons, Bryan is finishing off a '29 roadster pickup full of collected old-school goodies.

One of the most dramatic displays in Henry Ford Museum is the "exploded" Model T-a 1924 Model T touring car with its constituent parts suspended by wires. Located at the entrance to the Made in America exhibition, it invites visitors to take a different look at an iconic American product.
Henry Ford's Model T automobile is one of the most significant technological devices of the 20th century. Its clever engineering and low price allowed it to do what could only be done once-make the automobile widely popular. The Model T spawned mass automobility, altering our living patterns, our leisure activities, our landscape, even our atmosphere. The Model T's influence is so pervasive and lasting that even people who know little about old cars or automotive history know the name "Model T."
But the way the Model T was produced is as iconic as the car itself. When Ford Motor Company introduced the Model T in October 1908, firearms, watches, and sewing machines were already being assembled from interchangeable parts made on specialized machines. Ford successfully adapted these techniques to the much more complex automobile, and then crowned this achievement with the development of the moving assembly line in late 1913.

Rick Dore and Chuck Palumbo are back with a new garage and more unexplored hoards
Hidden just out of sight in backyards and garages across the country are vast treasure troves of an Americana relic-- classic cars. Custom car guru, Rick Dore and WWE superstar Chuck Palumbo are back to rebuild legendary cars and transform lives in the return of RUSTED DEVELOPMENT (fka Lords of the Car Hoards) to premiere on Discovery Channel Monday, September 7 at 10 PM/ET.
After being forced to shut the doors to SLAM garage in the previous season, our two car experts are reopening SLAM, and jumping back into the "hoarder scene" with challenges more daunting than ever. This season has everything from six-figure builds including a 1937 Zephyr (the "holy grail" of custom cars), to a Vietnam war veteran who hopes to honor his late father's memory by rebuilding a 1957 Thunderbird. Palumbo also takes on a project very close to his heart- restoring his father's 1965 Corvette, a car that set him on his career path.
Each episode of RUSTED DEVELOPMENT features Dore and Palumbo helping car hoarders by offering them the deal of a lifetime: pick any one dream car from their overcrowded collection to get a custom rebuild. The catch: they have to cover the costs of the remake by parting with and selling other cars and parts from their massive hoard. Many of these car hoards have been collected over a lifetime and even with the promise of a priceless new custom car, the separation anxiety sets in as car owners can't let go.
Dore, a classic car legend known for his vivid imagination, has been in the custom car building game for decades. A member of numerous automotive halls of fame, the recipient of three top awards at the 2014 Grand National Roadster Show (where he debuted The Aquarius, which he built for James Hetfield of Metallica), his one-of-a-kind creations regularly grace the covers of hot rod magazines.
Palumbo, the 6'6" athlete and wrestling superstar holds many world wrestling titles, including two WWE Tag team titles and four WCW World Tag Team titles. He left WWE in 2008 to pursue his passion for cars and motorcycles.

Stromberg owner, Clive Prew said: "With 750cfm in a three-carb package on a progressive linkage, you can cruise economically on the single Primary, then punch in the Secondaries when you step on the gas. BIG97s reduce the level of vacuum the engine has to pull to get the air it needs, which promotes higher air/fuel density. They also reduce mixture velocity which allows that denser, fuel-heavy air an easier, less turbulent, turn into the inlet manifold. Coupled with improved fuel conditioning, it all adds up to more power for your rear wheels."From the outset, Stromberg's aim was to re-engineer the 97 venturi and throttle body to maximize airflow without changing the signature outside shape. But achieving as much as 250cfm per carburetor - some 55% more than a regular new 97 (at 162cfm) is only part of the story.
