At P.F. Chang's we are committed to providing you with an exceptional dining experience every time you walk through our doors. Each dish on our menu is prepared to order using the freshest and highest quality ingredients.
Majestic 11 foot tall horses grace the entrance to many of the restaurants. The horse symbolizes the original Forbidden City in China, which was built for China's first emperor Qin Shi Huangdi.
At P.F. Chang's you are surrounded by a unique environment combining influences of Chinese and American cultures. A panoramic, hand-painted mural depicting 12th century China, is visible from the main dining room and commands attention as the restaurant's centerpiece, while several terra-cotta warriors stand guard. Pepsi Crowdsources Photos for Beyonce's Super Bowl Halftime Show
In the first two days of submissions for what Pepsi is calling the first-ever crowdsourced Super Bowl halftime introduction, the soft drink giant says it has received thousands of photos. Beginning December 29, fans have been able to submit images of themselves in pre-determined poses for a chance to appear in an on-air introduction for performer Beyonce.
In order to participate, fans must visit www.pepsi.com/halftime to find the daily pose and submit a similar photograph. Poses include shouting, head bopping, feet tapping, and hip shaking.
Hundreds of photos submitted with the hashtag #PepsiHalftime will be used in an on-air video introduction to the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show on CBS on February 3. In addition, Pepsi says it may feature submissions on the website and/or in advertising materials during the promotion period.
Photos submitted by January 11 were be eligible for the grand prize. Photos could also be submitted through January 21 for consideration in the Super Bowl ad, but they will not be eligible for the prize.
The grand prize includes round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and $500 cash.

The Butch Gardner Clubhouse
December 19, 2012
From John Buck - Rod Shows.com
In memory of the late Butch Gardner, the Sacramento Autorama will formally rename the Clubhouse in his honor.
Butch began a long association with the Sacramento Autorama when he began showing cars in 1973, and later went on to become a show judge. In 1999, Butch became Show Director and Floor Manager of the Sacramento Autorama. A favorite of many frequenters of the Autorma, Butch was an active member of the Legends and was the Legends Luncheon Chairman for many years.
As a lifetime member and former President of the Capitol Auto Club Thunderbolts, car clubs were always close to his heart. Butch brought many car clubs together as the Clubhouse venue manager for the 2012 show and had planned to continue as venue manager in 2013.
With his vital role in making the Autorama Clubhouse possible, we can't think of a greater way to honor his memory than with The Butch Gardner Clubhouse.
Over 500 show vehicles will compete for awards inside all of the Cal Expo buildings.
The Clubhouse will be in The Pavilion and up to another 500 vehicles will join the event Saturday and newly added Sunday for the Autorama Drive-In parked in the Building A lot.
Vehicle Registration for the Drive-In must arrive at the Rod Shows office by February 1, 2013 as credentials will be mailed.

BATMOBILE #1 BARRETT-JACKSON 2013
S-O-L-D $4,200,000.
George Barris Batmobile Number 1 Sold
The Batmobile rolls onto the stage. The car had been the sole property of its creator, legendary car customizer George Barris. It was sold at collector car auction company Barrett Jackson's annual auction near the company's Scottsdale, Ariz., headquarters. The final price includes a 10% sales commission. There had been some question as to whether the car would fetch a large sum. Craig Jackson, chief executive of the auction firm, said he expected the car to sell for millions. Others pointed out, though, that many imitation Batmobiles had been built over the years, a good number of them virtually indistinguishable from the original. That raised the question of whether collectors would be willing to pay a huge sum for this Batmobile simply because it was the first. Rick Champagne, who owns a logistics company in Tempe, Ariz., was very willing. He identified himself as the buyer in an interview with Speed TV immediately after the sale, and his name was confirmed by a representative for Barrett-Jackson. He told Speed that the car would go in his living room. "The energy in that room was just electric. We haven't experienced anything like that since the Futurliner," Jackson said, referring to the 2006 auction of a General Motors concept bus that sold for $4 million. Bidders were so tightly packed around the Batmobile that it was hard at times to tell who was bidding, he added. But Hollywood cars don't always command top dollar. For one thing, there are usually multiple versions created for different types of shots and for promotional use, making it hard to to say that one vehicle is definitively "the car." In this case, the TV Batmobile really is a singular creation. While there have been many imitations, this is the only original. (Black & White Photos Courtesy George Barris)
The Batmobile started life as a Ford 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car, which was itself based on a Lincoln Mark II. The final two bidders, stopped the bidding and decided who would take the Batmobile home with a flip of a coin. Rick (in the blue shirt) won the coin toss! $4,200,000. before fees. Photo courtesy George Barris - Click to visit Back In The Day........ Lynn Kohout (Sacramento Vintage) had the opportunity to check out Batmobile NUMBER ONE with George Barris at Barris Industries. George was showing Lynn all the cool features. Thanks George.

Champion barn find: Long-lost '32 Ford was drag-racing star
Story by Angelo Van Bogart Photos by Bob Chiluke
Courtesy Old Cars Weekly News
A single shot from a BB gun may have saved one of the most historic 1932 Ford Deluxe three-window coupes in drag racing history from completely rusting into oblivion.
In 1954, Francis Fortman and Kenny Kerr decided to build a car for the 1954 World Series of Drag Racing, the first such event hosted by the Automobile Timing Association of America. The event was held at Half Day Speedway in Lawrenceville, Ill., about 20 miles from Chicago, none too far from Fortman and Kerr's home. Other young participants included Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick driving a new Oldsmobile, Art Arfons in the Allison airplane-engined "Green Monster" and Fred Lorenzen in a Cadillac-powered Ford convertible.
Fortman and Kerr did not become big names like some of their fellow competitors that day. However, the 1932 Ford three-window coupe they built and raced for that event placed first in the A-B class with a 105.88 mph speed.
After that day of racing, Fortman and Kerr hung up their helmets and parked the Deuce for good. As driver, Kerr took home the trophy from the track. As the builder, Fortman took home the Deuce as his own trophy. He then parked the car outside until fate intervened and the car became a bona fide barn find in 2012.
"[Fortman] told me a '32 Ford race car was worth nothing in 1954, so instead of selling it, he put it in a field and put a tarp on it," said Ken Robins, the 1932 Ford's new owner. "So it spent 20 years under this tarp until one day, kids were shooting the windshield with a BB gun, so he put it in the barn. But from the day he brought it home in 1954 to the day I bought it, it was never touched or started."
The Deuce Robins bought in the summer of 2012 is the '32 every hot rodder dreams of finding or building in their head while lying awake at night. The car is a simple, purpose-built car with several period go-fast tricks, and the fact it's based on one of the rodding world's most lusted-after cars is pure luck.

SHEEPHERDER BAR AND GRILLE
The Citrus Inn opened in 1913 in this very building on Folsom Boulevard. Citrus was sold in front of the building to everyone that passed by on busy Folsom Boulevard.
Folsom Boulevard was a main thoroughfare for the gold rush in the mid 1800s. Many immigrants and forty-niners were in search of some of the gold that James W Marshall and John Sutter found in the American River. The railroads that are still visible across the street today were the same railroads that were constructed in the late 1800s.
Rumor has it that over the years The Citrus Inn became many different businesses, including The Edwards Hotel, and at one point, a brothel. Everyone came to the building to eat good food and to have a good time. There was drinking and dancing 'til late at night.
Later, the building became known as Sheepherder Inn. It was a place for Basque sheepherders to come and rest upstairs in the Inn and enjoy a hearty meal downstairs, which probably consisted of meats, fish, lamb stews, legumes, cheeses and Basque cider.

FLOWMASTER MUFFLER
In 1983 California Sprint Car racers were experiencing 'excessive sound' issues at numerous race tracks and were told to quiet the cars down or lose racing privileges. All attempts to silence the race engines without sacrificing power repeatedly failed.
Enter Flowmaster founder, Ray Flugger, with over 45+ years of exhaust design experience, and while working out of a small 800 square foot barn in Kenwood, California, created Flowmaster's first patented design of racing silencers. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase muffler." Today, these innovative Flowmaster mufflers are the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing
Flowmaster's product line includes exhaust products for Performance Street, Muscle Cars, Trucks, Street Rods, RV's, Motorhomes, and all types of race applications. With over 400 different muffler models, 370+ exhaust systems and numerous exhaust accessories available, Flowmaster offers you the choice of sound to fit your preference from "wild to mild" and your specific vehicle needs.
