Intermediate Microsoft Project

Topic:Understanding how to work with MSProject�        
MSProject� is one of the most widely used scheduling software available today. It is a powerful tool that can save you significant time and effort planning and managing your projects IF you know what you're doing!

This workshop will be based on Microsoft Project 2010. Students should bring their own laptop with Project loaded. Acceptable versions to be discussed are Microsoft Project 2007-2013. Students should already have a working familiarity with Project.  This is not an introductory class.

Nikki Choyce, PMP is a project management consultant, instructor, presenter and coach with more than seventeen years of experience helping individuals and companies improve project performance and personal effectiveness. She is president of Infotech Management, a Fort Worth based project management consulting firm. Her experience spans many industries from healthcare to construction.

The Horseshoe Project

The Dallas Horseshoe Project is a five mile and $798 million design-build roadway construction project by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to improve traffic flow through the heart of downtown Dallas.  It is ranked in the top 20 most congested roadways in Texas. Aptly dubbed the "Horseshoe project" due to it U shape. This project is dedicated to "Fixin' the Mix". The project started in April 2013 and is scheduled to be complete in 2017.

Presenter: Our speaker is Bob Stevens. He is a project director working in Fluor Corporation's Infrastructure business line and has been working at Fluor for 14 years.

Member Referral Program 
The Word of mouth is one of the most effective ways to recruit prospective members to the Chapter.  The Fort Worth Chapter is proud to be recognized as the Friendly Chapter and YOU are the most effective marketing tool we have to promote the value of our membership.  To incentivize our members to recruit prospective members, we are introducing a Member Referral Program.

Any Chapter member in good standing can refer a potential member to join the Chapter.  For each referred member who joins the Chapter, the referring Chapter member is eligible to be entered into a drawing at the end of the calendar year.  There is no limitation on the number of referrals by a Chapter member.  The Chapter will award 3 prizes - for the top 3 Referrals:

Director of Speaker Management

The Director of Speaker Management is responsible for acquiring, evaluating, and managing speakers, presenters and instructors for all Chapter events.  The ideal Volunteer has a large network of potential resources and good negotiation skills.  Estimated time commitment for this Virtual Volunteer role is 10-15 hours per month.
