RHODES, MARSHALL, MITCHELL, GATES CAMBRIDGE AND CHURCHILL SCHOLARSHIP INFO SESSIONS
Next Week, Mar. 1-3, 2016
Purdue�s very top students with outstanding intellectual ability and a rich r�sum� get ready for a Rhodes Scholarship, Marshall Scholarship, Mitchell Scholarship, Gates Cambridge Scholarship, or Churchill Scholarship. These programs are for graduate degrees at Cambridge, Oxford and other prestigious universities in the UK and Ireland. Boilermakers who have received these scholarships (remoting in from abroad) or interviewed with the national finalist committees will tell their peers about the application process and its rewards.

Each scholarship has a unique profile. This session gives an overview of the awards to help students assess which meet their individual goals.

Churchill Scholarship

Current Churchill Scholar and Purdue alumna Emily Erickson will Skype in to talk about her application experience and graduate school at Cambridge. This scholarship funds one-year graduate programs in the sciences, engineering, and mathematics at Churchill College, University of Cambridge.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Outstanding intellectual ability, leadership, and a commitment to improving the lives of others are key qualities of a Gates Cambridge Scholar. This session will help you assess if you would be a good fit with this scholarship in any major at University of Cambridge. Open to all non-UK citizens.

Rhodes Scholarship

Rhodes Scholarship Finalist and current Purdue senior Brenda Ramirez will speak about the application process and unravels the mysteries of being a finalist. Your work at Purdue and beyond can bring a Rhodes Scholarship within reach. This scholarship for study at University of Oxford fits students with demonstrated leadership potential and commitment to the common good.

Mitchell and Marshall Scholarships Info Session
Thursday, Mar. 3, 2016, 5:45pm in BRNG 1284
Current Mitchell Scholar and Purdue alumnus Milad Alucozai will Skype in to talk about the experience of applying for competitive scholarships and now being in Ireland. The Mitchell Scholarship funds a one-year graduate degree in the Republic of Ireland. Future American leaders connect to Ireland on a Mitchell Scholarship while fostering intellectual achievement and a commitment to community and service.
Alucozai will also speak of his experience as a Marshall Scholarship Finalist. The Marshall funds graduate level study for future leaders who will further US-UK relations through study at any UK institution and into their future careers.

Schwarzman Scholarship Info Session

Scharzman Scholars representative Christian Tanja guest speaker.
The Schwarzman Scholars program gives top academic achievers from any nation the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through a fully-funded one-year Master�s Degree at Tsinghua University in China. Students of any major pursue a degree in Public Policy, Economics and Business, or International Studies in English-language classes. Class of 2017 undergraduates apply now for 2017-18 study in Beijing.

Students learn how to better understand the content of an academic-oriented resume. How is it different than a job resume? What information should be included? How should particular experiences be presented?
