How to Use the Messenger Function
Over the last couple of weeks we have focused our attention on the Messenger Function. In this week's eNews, we are going to make sure that you have an understanding of how the Messenger Function works.
What the Messenger Function Is
This is just a reminder of what the Messenger Function Is. Remember that it is an internal mailing service for users to send messages and reminders back and forth, without the use of a separate client. This is useful when a quick message needs to be sent to a user across a store or in a back room, without the need of a long email.
Where to find the Messenger Button
There are two different versions of the Main Menu. If you are using the Version 3 of the Main Menu, you will see the Messenger along the middle bottom of the first column of buttons.
If you are using the Version 4 of the Main Menu (The two columns on the left hand side of the screen), you will find the Messenger button in the lower left hand bottom corner...below the left column or column 1.
What Happens when You Click that Button
In either version, when you click on the Messenger button it will display the window that you see below. In this window will be a list of messages from various users. If the message is new, the icon will be a closed envelope. When the message is opened, the envelope changes to the icon shown below.
How to send a Message
Clicking Compose allows you to send a message to any user in the system. Select the type of message (Message or Schedule which allows you to send a date and time with the message). Select the User(s) by clicking the Users button and checking the various users you wish to send the message to. Enter a brief subject and message to send to the set user(s). If you click the Image button in the bottom left, you can attach an image to the message as well. Once everything looks good, click Send to send the message.

How Will You Know When You Get A Message
If you are within other sections of the program and someone sends you a message, when you are finished in the section you are in, a message will be displayed saying you have unread messages.
If you want to read them immediately, click Yes. If you don't respond, it will disappear and take you back to the main menu. You will see a notification in red letters, letting you know you have a message available.
How to read the message
To read the message, double click on the message line and the message will be displayed as seen below.
