Last week, we discussed how the Messaging function works. This week we are going to introduce a new function that uses the Messaging system known as the 'Missed Opportunity' function. This is a way to keep track of Missed Opportunites to make a sale. Let's see how this works!
1. Go to System, Company Setup and then Inventory Page 3
2. Choose the Missed Opportunity Recipient. The message goes to only one user as there should be a single person who determines how these opportunities are handled.
Accessing the Missed Opportunity Form
To access the Missed Opportunity Form, press the CTRL + the F1 keys together. A blank Missed Opportunity screen will be displayed.
The Missed Opportunity Information Form
You will then type in the Missed Opportunity Information. Remember that what you are entering in the form is a 'Missed Opportunity' to make a sale. An example of a 'Missed Opportunity' might be someone who comes in and wants to rent a particular item and you don't carry that item. You could then log that example into the form/screen as seen below. Once you have completed the message, you will press the Save button.
The Messenger Screen
Once the Save button is pressed, the message is sent to the User that was set up in the Company Setup; in this case Paul. Once Paul logs into TransActPOS, the message is displayed in his Messenger and is listed with the subject as "Missed Opportunity".
How to read the message
To read the message, double click on the message line and the message will be displayed as seen below.
