Equipment Rental
In today's competitive market, stores are always finding ways to differentiate themselves. Some stores have successfully incorporated equipment rental into their daily operations. Rather than requiring a separate software solution, TransActPOS offers a fully integrated solution to handle their retail and rental operations.

Creating Rental Items in TransAct
Over the next few weeks, we will go through the process of creating rental items in TransAct. First, we will list the steps themselves.
1. Click IC | Inventory File
2. Click Add
3. Enter the following information: Item ID, Item Description, Vendor, and Vendor Part Number
4. Click Save
5. Click Edit
6. Change the Item Type to Rental and the Matrix to Serial (only if the item is serialized)
7. Click the Pricing tab and enter the prices for the rates
8. If the item has a meter, check the Meter Hours box and enter the appropriate hours for each rate
9. If the item has a deductible, enter either a percentage or a fixed rate
10. Click Save to finalize the changes

Creating a new rental item within the inventory is almost the same as creating a normal inventory item.
First, go to IC | Inventory File and click the Add button (if the Find screen appears, close it to find the Add button).
