Taking Physical Inventory: Part Two
Last week, we looked at the steps required to setup a job to perform Physical Inventory. If you missed it, click the Archive link above and check it out. This week, we are going one step further and actually performing the physical item maintenance with a wireless handheld.

Physical Inventory
Now that the job has been setup, you can get your handheld device and perform the task at hand. Log in to TransActPOS on the wireless unit and select Inventory Adjustment. From there, choose Physical Inventory. The next thing on the screen a list of jobs. In this list should be the job we created in last week's newsletter. The only thing displayed in the list is the date and the comment on the job (this is why the comment is so important). Click the job you want and click the Select button.
From here, start scanning the items you wish to count physically. When you scan an item, you will need to enter the on-hand amount by using the keyboard on the wireless device or the up and down arrows in the on-hand field. There are a handful of other things you can change/do as well, such as print labels, change the price, and more. Once you have finished with the current item, click Save and scan the next item. Keep doing this until you have completed the physical inventory process.
