Shortcuts
TransActPOS has a variety of functions that it can perform. This can be overwhelming at times, but there are a few keyboard shortcuts that can perform certain functions a lot quicker, saving you time a energy for other tasks. This week, we are going to look at these keyboard shortcuts and how to perform them.

Quantity Change Shortcuts
When adding items to an invoice or order, you can scan an item multiple times to increase the quantity or use the "Change Quantity" button. There are a few shortcuts you can perform to make this process quicker. If you scan/enter an item ID, it appears in the list of items being sold. To quickly add another of the same item, simply type a plus sign (+) and hit Enter. This increases the quantity of the highlighted item by one. You can also enter an asterisk (*) and a number to change the quantity of the selected item to the number entered after the asterisk. For example, if you enter "*5," the highlighted item's quantity will be 5 after hitting Enter.
Date/Calendar Shortcuts
At times in TransActPOS (reports for example), you must enter a date or date range. You can type the date manually or use some of the keyboard shortcuts that have been put in place to make life a lot easier. If you hit the plus or minus keys on the keyboard, the date will increase or decrease (respectively) by one day. To increase or decrease the month by one, use the letters M and H. M will go back one month while H will go forward one month. To increase or decrease the year by one, use the letters Y and R. Y will go back on year while R will go forward one year.
Another shortcut that can help if you are trying to locate a specific date is to press the C key while in a date field. This will bring up an interactive calendar that is similar to the system calendar. This allows you to use the arrows to navigate months and select the specific day you want. If you wish to return to the date your system calendar is set to, click the square button in between the two arrows and the calendar will jump back to the current date.
