Request Date
Back in eNews #80 and #81, we looked at the creation and utilization of Future POs. This required the use of changing the Request Date on the purchase when it was created. There is also a Request Date field on the Reorder report. In this week's newsletter, we are going to clarify the difference between these two fields and what they are used for.

Overview
When creating a purchase order, the order date and request date defaults to the current date. You can change the Request Date on a purchase order if the order is meant for a future date (this is called a Future PO). In eNews #80, we discussed how to change this date to make the purchase order a Future PO (refer to it for more information.
| If you go to the Reorder report in IC | Reports | Reorders, there is a field called "Purchase Order Request Date." This field is NOT meant as a Future date for the Reorder report. The date entered in thisfield won't include Future POs past the date entered. The date entered in the request date field will not include future orders unless the request date is <= the date entered.
