Access Restrictions Refund Restrictions
TransActPOS already offers access restrictions for the user groups that use TransActPOS. Whenever new features roll out, these access levels will need to be set in System | User Security | Groups.
One of the new restrictions you can set is to block cashiers from selling an item below cost or retail. In order to do this, you first must enable the restriction in System | Company Setup | POS Information 1. After doing this, the access level can be set for user groups. When a cashier without the proper access tries to sell an item below cost or retail, a message will be presented followed by a log in prompt. If a manager/person with proper access wants to allow this, they can input their credentials to override it.

In System | Company Setup | POS Information 4, you can now set some refund restrictions. The first refund restriction is "Max. Item $ Refund w/o Manager Ok." The value entered here is the maximum dollar amount allowed for a refund without a manager's approval. If a cashier issues a refund for more than the value entered, a message will appear, warning that you are trying to issue a refund for more than this restriction. If someone with proper access (manager) inputs their credentials, you can override this message.
The other restriction is "Max. Invoice Refund for Cash/Check." Once the value entered in this field is surpassed, the system will not allow refunds via cash or check.
