Quick Close vs. Reconciliation

At the end of the day, your store will count up the drawer to see how sales went for the day. TransActPOS has a Reconciliation utility when closing a shift that allows you to input the various values for payment types. This allows you to view how much of any given payment type was tendered during a day. A new feature in 3.041 is the Quick Close feature. This week, we are going take a look at this new feature and specific use cases of it rather than using the full Reconciliation utility.

Overview
To turn on the Quick Close feature, go into System | Company Setup | POS Information 4 and enable the "Shift closes and only count cash and checks" option. Once enabled and you close the current shift, you will be prompted with the Quick Close window instead of the full Reconciliation screen.
On the Quick Close screen, you can only count up the cash, coins, and number of checks (not the check amounts). Once these have been counted, a small report will print out with the numbers of each tender listed. Quick Close is a better option for stores that don't have a lot of payment options. Obviously, if you have credit card sales, Quick Close is not an option for you (unless you want to keep up with them separately).
