Using the Reorder Report to Create Future POs
A Future Purchase Order is a PO created for a later date. TransActPOS is setup to perform these purchase orders from the beginning. In last week's newsletter, we looked at how to establish these purchase orders from the Create PO menu option. This week, we are looking at the creation of Future POs by using the Reorder Report.

To get to the Reorder Report, click on IC | Reports and click on Reorders. This will take you to the Reorder Report screen. Here, you can enter various item information for your Reorder. The left side of this screen is for specific item information, like class, code, item number, vendor, and more. The right side offers more item information through various check boxes.

Once you have entered the item information you want for the Reorder, enter the future date for the Future PO in the "Purchase Order Request Date" field in the lower right part of the window. Once you have entered the date you want, click Generate. This will create the Reorder.
Once the Reorder is generated, you can click the Export button and click Create PO to put the Reorder items on a purchase order. Doing this will open the Order Form, allowing you to make any desired changes. Clicking Close will create the purchase order.
The order quantities on this future purchase order will not appear in the system until a Reorder is performed with the Request Date matching or surpassing the date on the purchase order.
