Rental Calendar
The Do-it-Best market is here! Come visit us at booth F19 and check out some of the new features we are showing off. One of these features is the Rental Calendar. This feature gives you a fully integrated rental program by managing your rental inventory, customers, and contracts all in one complete module. In this week's newsletter, we will take a deeper look into this new feature, but if you would like a hands-on experience, check us out at booth F19! Update and Setup Overview
The Rental Calendar is one of the newest features in version 4. In order to use it, you must update your system. If you haven't updated to version 4 yet, this update takes a bit longer than a normal update. Make sure to allow for this added update time. If you need a refresher on how to update TransActPOS, click Help Center and search for "The Update Process."
Once you have updated, go into the Company Setup and you will notice a new Rental Manager page 4. On this page, you can select the rates your store offers (if a rate is selected, the item MUST have a value entered for the rate in Inventory File | Prices). You can also enable the Rental Calendar by checking the "Utilize Rental Calendar" option. Restart TransActPOS once you have made any changes.

Now that the Rental Calendar has been turned on, enter Rental by clicking POS | Rental, Options | Rental or by pressing Shift+F2. Doing this will bring up the calendar.
In the top left corner, you can view a list of every rental item in your inventory. You can search in this list or scroll up and down with the arrow keys or your mouse. Highlighting an item will display the rental rates below the list. On the rest of the screen is the calendar. The top is a typical looking calendar. When you select a day on this calendar, you can see any contracts for the currently selected item in the list below. // shows that there is a contract out for the designated area of time. This allows for a quick glance at how many of the selected items are out for what period of time.
