Are You Up-to-Date?
TransActPOS is an evolving program that undergoes change on a daily basis. These changes could include new features, improvements on existing features, or a simple bug fix. We work hard at ensuring the program meets your needs and will work when you need it to. But is your system up-to-date? You may not check for updates very often and may have a problem that could be fixed with a simple update. This week, we are going to look at the easy process of updating your TransActPOS.
Note: TransActPOS Updates are available to all customers that are have a current TransActPOS Maintenance Plan.

Process
Updating TransActPOS is a two step procedure. The first step is to download the update. This process, depending on your internet speed, internet activity, and update size, could take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes (if you are a few versions behind, this process could take a bit longer). Luckily, the update download can be done during business hours and shouldn't affect your daily business.
To download the update, go to System | File Maintenance | Update Menu. From the update menu, select "Website Download." If you are unsure if your version is the current version, you can click "Check for Update" to view the most up-to-date version available for download.

Once the download is completed, you are ready to perform the update. To install the update, all workstations must be
exited out of TransActPOS in order to receive the updated information (the system will give you a warning prior to beginning the update process). Again, this process should only take about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your network speed and the size of the update.
From the Update Menu, click "Perform Update." A series of prompts will popup on the screen. Read them carefully and answer "Yes" to each of them before moving on. Once the License Agreement appears, click Agree to begin installation. Once the update is finished installing, the system will present message to you. Click OK to exit TransActPOS and your system should now be updated.
