Sales Tax Maintenance
Recently, many different areas have seen changes in the tax rate being charged to customers. TransActPOS is equipped to handle this, but it require a little bit of work to make the change. In this week's newsletter, we will look at how to do this and briefly discuss the other taxation information that is maintained within TransActPOS.

Tax Rate Change
To change a tax rate within your system, go to System | Support Files | Sales Tax Menu. This will bring you to the Tax Table Setup screen. This screen is where all taxation information is established for your system.
To change an individual tax rate, click on Tax Tables. Within the Tax Table Maintenance window, highlight the tax rate you wish to alter by left clicking on it and click on the Properties tab to begin the changing process. Once you are on the Properties tab, you will be able to highlight the tax percent value in the listing at the bottom and click Edit to change the percentage.

After clicking Edit on the tax percentage you wish to change, you will be presented with the Tax Rate Detail screen. At the bottom of this screen, there is a field named "Tax Rate." Enter the new value for the taxation rate and click OK to save the changes. Note: This tax rate will ONLY be valid for a dollar purchase amount that falls within the min/max range established on the Tax Rate Detail screen.
If there are multiple tax rates you need to change, clicking OK on the Properties tab will save the current changes and bring you back to the main listing of taxation rates, allowing you to repeat this process.
