Did you know...? (Volume 1)
This week, we are going to look at a few features that may normally get overlooked. These are features that could benefit your store operations that may either be optional add ons to TransActPOS or features that are in your version that don't get used often enough. Hopefully this week's newsletter will offer insight into these features and highlight something that could be useful for your store.

Fax Service
Back in eNews #2, we talked about our Email Server functionality. This allows you to email invoice copies and statements to customers who choose to have their email address on file. This is a fee based service that is added on to your current TransActPOS program. In addition to emailing, we now offer a fax service. The Fax Service requires the email add on and is an additional fee. This allows you to not only email invoice copies and statements to customers, but you can fax these documents to customers as well. The faxing does not require a fax machine on your end, but obviously requires one on the customer's end. The document is sent electronically to a third party which then takes the electronic document and sends it to the customer's listed fax number. For your fax service, you can customize a cover sheet that will be placed on every electronic fax you send out.

System Sounds
On a system with speakers that are enabled and turned up, TransActPOS will play sounds when certain events occur. These sounds are set at each individual workstation and can be custom made if you choose to do so. To access these sounds and see if they are working properly or change them, go into System | Workstation and on the System tab (the default tab shown), click the Select Sounds button. This will bring up a window showing the six different events that will play audio when they occur. The buttons to the right of each sound allow you to Select a .wav sound file to associate with the given event, Play a sound already associated to the event, or you can check the No Sound box to have no sound play when the particular event occurs. Choosing the Default button in the lower left will restore the six event sounds to the default sound files. If you wish to use your own .wav files or to create a .wav file for yourself and use it for the system sounds, you can easily do so. All you need are short .wav files or the Windows program "Sound Recorder" which is found in Start | Accessories | Sound Recorder and a microphone to record your own.
