Adding Jobs "On the Fly"
Some customers may come into your store with long term projects, such as a bathroom remodel. TransActPOS has a feature called "Jobs" that can be used to keep a record of invoices and dollars spent on those projects. If a customer comes in with a new job in mind, many people only know how to add jobs from the customer's file. Thankfully, TransActPOS allows you to add jobs into the system at the point of sale.

To ensure a customer is set up for jobs, you can go into the Customer File, locate the customer, head over to the Accounting tab, and check the box that says "Use Jobs." From here, adding jobs is simple. However, it can be much more convenient to do it at the time of the invoice. To do this, find and select the customer who is set up for jobs. You can do this after invoicing the items or before. Depending on when you choose the customer, the "Select Job" window will come up at different points in the sales process. Whenever it does appear, all you have to do to add a job "on the fly" is to follow the steps below.
 
  1. Highlight the existing job name on the right (or left click in the job name field if empty) and enter the name for the new job
  2. Select the sales tax type for this specific job (optional)
  3. Enter in additional information, such as details for the job and address (optional)

Once the desired steps have been completed, pressing Enter or clicking the Select button will ask if you would like to add the new job. Clicking yes will add the job to the customer's file. The new job is now available for use in future invoices.
