Greetings!

Me

Catch the Wave!

The cruise industry's "Wave Season," which takes place between January and the end of March, is when cruise lines highlight their best extra-value offers. Many offer major sales during this time, and you can take advantage of these promotions to get a great deal on your next cruise vacation.

Did you know that only a little less than 20% of American's have been on a cruise? Did you also know that 75-80% of cruisers book their cruise vacations through a travel agent? Travel agents are in the know, and cruise lines know on which side their bread is buttered. Travel suppliers traditionally roll out upcoming promotions and events to the travel agent community before the general public.

Due to our membership with CLIA (Cruise Lines Int'l Association), as well as our travel consortium, Vacation.com, we can often provide our clients with upgrades, cabin credits and access to blocked group space.

I don't know about you but I absolutely love to cruise - especially small-ship cruising! I can't explain it but something comes over me every time I'm at sea. It's very calming.  Cruising is an exceptional value, an amazing experience and a great way to see the world.

If you're thinking about a cruise vacation in 2013/2014, now's the time to make reservations.  Don't wait until the last minute to book popular destinations and dates, such as major holidays and when schools are closed.

So give me a call and catch the wave... You haven't lived until you've cruised!

Best,

Below is a snapshot of some wave season specials. Please give me a call if you're interested in reserving your next - or first - cruise vacation.  You haven't lived until you've cruised!

Celebrity Cruises is offering 7-day cruises on the brand new Reflection for as little as $549 (inside), though the price goes up dramatically for higher categories and Celebrity Silhouette with balcony cabins for $899 on February 17th. The five Solstice-class ships are absolutely elegant and beautiful, but these two have the best restaurants; especially the Lawn Club Grill and Qsine.

Cunard Line- a transatlantic crossing on the flagship Queen Mary 2 is the most refined seagoing experience anywhere. Here are some special prices on 7-day crossings between NY and Southampton, U.K.:

  • 26 April: Westbound, Southampton to NY, $999
  • 3 May: Eastbound, NY to Southampton, $1045
  • 25 May: Westbound, Southampton to NY, $1057
  • 15 December: Westbound, Southampton to NY, $1057
  • 3 January 2014: Eastbound, NY to Southampton, $1045

Cunard also has two smaller vessels with special offers on airfare to Europe; up to $1000 off per couple, and savings of up to $1,200 off your cruise on certain dates.

Disney Cruise Line - "Kids Sail Free" offer available now for its sailings on Disney Magic currently sailing out of Galveston, TX. The date-sensitive cruise prices are pretty decent for this popular cruise line, especially on February 5th starting at just $919 per adult (inside). Many of the ship's staterooms will hold two kids who sail FREE (Kids ages 17 & under) on most 6-night and 8-night sailings from Galveston from Jan. 12, 2013 to March 1, 2013

I recommend the newer Disney ships for a greater variety of experiences. Look to Disney Fantasy sailing 7-night cruises out of Port Canaveral.

Holland America Line is holding a "Sail and Save" event with exceptional prices on 7-day Caribbean cruises on the Eurodam. Sail to the Eastern Caribbean for just $499 (inside) or $799 verandah (March 2 sailing). The sister Nieuw Amsterdam is equally nice and has Western Caribbean sailings for $599 (inside) or just $849 (verandah).

You can also save on cruises to Alaska next summer if you book now for as little as $549 (inside) or $599 (oceanview) on the Zaandam; roundtrip Vancouver (a desirable itinerary).

Princess Cruises has savings up to $1,000 per stateroom plus up to $1,000 savings per couple on air fare (when air is booked with Princess). Most of the featured discounts are for cruises in Europe (all year) and Alaska (summer months). When Princess has a sale (usually for only a week every two months) they mean it, prices will return to the higher figure when the sale ends.

Royal Caribbean is offering an onboard gift certificate worth between $50 to $400 per stateroom depending on the accommodations and length of cruise. This is for cruise bookings made between now and February 15, 2013, on outside staterooms and above for sailings of 6-nights or longer in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Europe or Transatlantic cruises.  I highly recommend the Oasis-class ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas which provide a wonderful cruise experience for the entire family, singles and couples.

All prices are per person based on double occupany.

Michelle Recommends...

Taking advantage of Wave Season specials.  Why not book the luxury cruise you always wanted?  How about an upgrade to a balcony or suite instead?  Now's a great time to start planning your travel for 2013/2014. Not only will you lock in extra incentives and amenities, you'll also ensure better cabin selection and location on most shps. Don't wait to get a "last minute deal" because you may find that the ship/sail date is sold out.
