SAVE THE DATE!!!
Course Selection Night is January 31
You are invited to attend Course Selection Night at Conestoga High School at 7:00PM on Thursday, January 31. Separate programs will be offered for each grade level. In order to maximize the time available for presentations, parents should go directly to the assigned rooms for each grade level. These room assignments will be clearly posted at all school entrances.
Parents who will have students in more than one grade at Conestoga should choose the grade level with which they are least familiar. Faculty representatives will rotate through all four locations, so all questions should be addressed regardless of the room chosen. Keeping in mind that students will hear similar presentations by teachers and counselors during the school day, they should not find it necessary to attend.
Prior to Course Selection Night, each student will receive a personal copy of the Program of Studies and will learn about course offerings and course selection procedures. In order to get the most from the evening event, parents will find it helpful to peruse the book and discuss course selection with their students in advance. Also, please bring your student's copy with you on Course Selection Night.
In each of the sessions, counselors and administrators will review course selection procedures and offer suggestions on the decision-making process in relation to student interests, abilities, and aspirations. Curriculum supervisors, department chairpersons, and other faculty representatives will offer brief presentations for each grade level, highlighting new offerings and other changes in the 2013-2014 Program.
