BLUE CROSS AND BLUE SHIELD OF NORTH CAROLINA SYSTEM UPGRADE SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 14-18.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina has scheduled a system upgrade that will render some BCBSNC systems unavailable from Thursday afternoon, February 14, through Monday, Feb. 18. The impacted services are listed below. Member Services- Call Center - The call center will be open during normal business hours but will offer limited services beginning Thursday, Feb. 14, at 4:30 p.m. through midday on Monday, Feb. 18.
- My Member Services - The member web portal will not be available for members beginning Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. through midday Monday, Feb. 18.
Pharmacy Services- Pharmacy Benefits - While BCBSNC will be unable to send eligibility updates to Express Scripts/Medco on Friday, Feb. 15, through Monday, Feb. 18, they will have the access required to handle emergency additions at the pharmacy if needed. Update files will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Claims - Claims - Claims will not be processed between 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, and Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 8 a.m.
Membership Billing- Enrollment Files - Inbound and outbound enrollment files will not be processed after Wednesday, Feb. 13. Enrollment processing will resume on Monday evening, Feb. 18.
- Premium Bills - Premium bills for groups with billing cycles of the 13th - 17th will be produced on Feb. 13. Bills scheduled to run after the 17th will be produced on their regular schedule.
- Outstanding tasks should be completed by Feb. 12. Data between MHS and eBN will not be in sync, resulting in delayed transactions, ID cards, etc.
