Informatics, the Next Lung Cancer Treatment?

Experts from The Ohio State University and University of Kentucky are collaborating to create a first of its kind biomedical informatics based approach to improve lung cancer survival rates.

The approach combines two different areas of biomedical informatics - digital imaging and genomic sequencing - in order to match patients with treatments most likely to extend their survival.

CCTS IRB submission support can improve the time from protocol review to IRB approval by up to two weeks.

Service support ranges from a single consultation to an iterative document drafting process between research teams and the CCTS Regulatory Knowledge & Support Core.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT
Molecule may provide better & faster options for bone reconstruction

Sudha Agarwal, PhD, is studying the effect of exercise on bone formation at the molecular level. Agarwal and her team identified a molecule, BRF-1, which regulates bone strengthening and bone deposition via bone remodeling.

The hope is through this research, Agarwal will learn how to use tissue engineering techniques to repair and regenerate bone.
