3-D Model Predicts Severity of Burns & Impact of Treatment

Collaboration at OSU Wexner Medical Center brings a 3-D model that may help physicians select more effective burn treatments.

Supported by funding from the CCTS, this first ever three-dimensional mathematical model is the result of a collaboration between mathematicians and regenerative medicine experts.

The model predicts how deep and wide a burn will spread within the first 12 hours, giving physicians a tool to predict efficacy of intervention.
