Golfing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, riding around the track in a pace car, hanging out in the IMS Pagoda while networking, making friends in the convention center basement during a tornado warning (yes, that says tornado!)...this is just some of the fun we had during SWANA's WASTECON in Indianapolis last week! Oh, and there were great sessions on solid waste issues, too! Thanks to all who stopped by our booth in the exhibit hall to say hello. We always enjoy seeing you in person.
Conferences like WASTECON, the national conference of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), help us all keep up-to-date and connected to both the people and the issues that impact solid waste management in our communities. We were happy to help on the WASTECON regional organizing and host committee this year as representatives of our Hoosier Chapter of SWANA, especially on the Publicity Subcommittee. Check out the host committee photo below, along with a picture of the Eco Partners team at our exhibit booth.
WASTECON also implemented a recycling and recovery program for waste generated at the conference. These efforts included food recovery, food composting, mixed recyclables, and reusable service ware. Way to go, SWANA, on a successful conference that left us all in the Winner's Circle!
