The Jamaica Center BID is happy to share news of yet another major development slated for the Downtown Jamaica area.

A new Four Points hotel by Sheraton is expected to be built on 94th Avenue near the Sutphin Boulevard Business Improvement District, as recently reported by NY1.  The location is just steps from the Jamaica AirTrain/LIRR transportation hub.  This is just one of two other hotels that are looking to take up residence around the transportation hub.

This hotel joins other noteworthy developments designated for Downtown Jamaica.  A 160,000 square foot project, just of Jamaica Avenue, could be home to a new department store for the area.  The Daily News recently wrote about the project, which would be the first of its kind in nearly 30 years.

And the good news continues. NY1 recently profiled the revitalization efforts underway by us here at the Jamaica Center BID. The feature highlighted how the area continues to be commercially attractive.

The addition of a new restaurant concept, CityRib, set to open next week, is another component that is spurring change in the area.  As DNAinfo profiled, this upcoming addition to the District's growing stable of sit down restaurants.  DNAinfo.com also reported about interest from other restaurants in joining Downtown Jamaica.

We are excited about the new developments and revitalization happening in Downtown Jamaica.
