Taste of Queens 2013
 
Queens has a host of wonderful offerings.  Tops among them is its food.  The Taste of Queens offers participants a sampling of some of the most exciting and delicious offerings the borough has to offer, from nearly 50 different restaurants. 

Held at the Ceasars Club at Citi Field which offers spectacular views to a night of dining and networking.  This year Jamaica Center BID's own Laurel Brown will be one of the events Taste Masters.

Applebee's Spring Bonus Time!

 To help diners shake off the cold weather blues, Applebee's is offering a Spring Bonus Gift Card Program. Patrons that buy a  $50 gift card between April 29 and June 23, get a $10 bonus gift card!  Gift cards are  redeemable between April 30 through July 7.  Gift cards are a great way to treat Mom on her special day. 

   

 

The Jamaica Ball! Party With a Purpose!

 Don't just party, party for the betterment of non-profits that serve the Jamaica Queens area.  This annual red carpet party extravaganza lets you purchase tickets that support your favorite Jamaica non-profit organization.  Just pick the line next to the organization you support and purchase your ticket. Then you are all set to party the night away for a good cause.

 

Tuesdays @ the Chapel!
  
Tuesdays in May, come out to the Illinois Jaquet Chapel for live Jazz.  This intimate space is a great place to enjoy the smooth sounds of rising talent.  Best of all, concerts are free!  The Chapel is located on 94-15 159th Street just off of Archer Ave.  
Dream Girls the Musical - at York Performing Arts Center!
York College boasts a performing arts theater that is just as impressive as the shows that they produce there. 

This May, as part of their performing arts series, York's Performing Arts Center is showcasing DREAMGIRLS, the "iconic Tony winning musical".  With tickets as low as $10, this performance should not be missed.  Click here for more details on scheduling and pricing.   
 
Two Historical Jamaica Walking Tours!
 
History buffs!  There are 2 great historic walking tours in downtown Jamaica for you this month:

On Saturday May 4th at 12:00 - 1:30 pm , join Rejin Leys and the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL), in collaboration with the Municipal Arts Society for "History and Art in Downtown Jamaica Queens".  Meet at JCAL 161-04 Jamaica Avenue.  For more information call 718-658-7400.

On Wednesday, May 22, join Dr. Jack Eichenbaum, the Queens Borough Historian, for a walking tour of historic Downtown Jamaica.  The area has undergone a spectacular renaissance!  Buildings have been transformed, commercial activity has been invigorated and there are loads of cultural events.  Come out and experience the historic Downtown Jamaica firsthand.  Meet outside the Air Train entrance (southern end of upper level of LIRR Jamaica station).  $15
 
Star Rewards Movie Pass
