Denim Day Challenge

It was so hard to choose a winner in the Denim Day Challenge we decided to draw. We're excited to announce The Midland Health Department is the official Midland winner of the challenge and The Schumacher Agency is the winner in Gladwin.
Thank you to the Midland Area Community Foundation, Garber Chevrolet, Family & Children's Services, and Community Mental Health for also taking a stand with us

We truly believe everyone is a winner when we come together to take a stand against myths surrounding sexual assault!

News from Shelterhouse -Gladwin

April was a busy month for Shelterhouse -Gladwin.  It began with a  Court House/Shelterhouse Information Sharing Day on April 5.  The following week you could find them at the Gladwin Junior High Health Fair.  Then mid-month they hosted a Walk the Walk which recreated the  journey of a simulated sexual assault victim going through the system.

The highlight of the month though was the SAAM Jam on April 20. 108 guests attended and enjoyed Chuck Bowden's educational piece on healthy communication skills.  Guests danced the 1 Billion Rising - Break the Chain routine and enjoyed wonderful blues music by Charlie and Charlie. Rounding out the evening was a wonderful meal catered by our very own Shelterhouse employee Robin Greiner and her friends.

In the coming months you'll see several fundraising events (including a golf outing) which they are planning. We hope you'll help support this industrious project. We are excited to be working with them. Learn more about the Barn Raising project here.
