The good students of Bay Laurel Elementary did such a stellar job on their BookDrive (collecting and distributing 5,000+ books) that we all decided to celebrate their success with a lunch and presentation for parents.

AND they aren't finished their good works yet! They have committed to coming out to our Big Sunday event (May 18) to help sort even more books!

This month was a brilliant microcosm of life at BookEnds:

We held three BookDrive kickoffs,
We helped at four BookDrive sortings,
Three BookDrive deliveries took place,
We facilitated four BookDrive reflections,
We had one giant in-office book sorting of 4,537 books,
Discover Books donated 45,000 books to us,
We said goodbye to a beloved intern who is graduating from college,
20 wonderful people walked in our office to deliver personal book donations,
We started our partnership with the LAPD and A Chance for Children, to put Little Free Libraries in 21 police precincts
We received grants from Dwight Stuart Youth Fund, The Adams Legacy Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and The Stanley and Joyce Black Family Foundation.
