"It has been a big journey to reintegrate all parts of myself -- to accept without judgment all the various experiences that make up my whole -- and come to radical self-acceptance."
- Nikki Myers
Dear friend,
Here at Street Yoga, we all come together knowing that yoga creates space and provides tools for individuals to reground and recenter. As yoga practitioners, we have all experienced its healing power and the role that it plays in our personal journey of growth and self-love.
There are many ways to join our movement and become a Street Yoga advocate! We are all teachers, caregivers, volunteers and family members -- participate in one of our Trauma-Informed Yoga Training at a city near you. You can show your support by shopping, and donning, Street Yoga merchandise (all proceeds to towards our programs). You can also make a monetary donation to our cause through our website streetyoga.org/give.
Together, let's practice -- and pass it on.
With gratitude,

ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT!
The statistics are staggering. Reports indicate that as many as one in three suffer from some type of addiction disorder. A multi-faceted condition with many forms, including: alcohol, illegal and prescription drugs, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating), compulsive spending, gambling, exercise bulimia, sex, love, porn as well as addiction to relationships and roles. Addiction causes social, psychological and physical harm. It affects people of all ages, backgrounds and socio-economic status. And...yes, it is hugely present in the yoga community. An equal opportunity destroyer, addiction affects not only the addict, it shakes families, friends and ultimately society as a whole.
This workshop uses presentation, discussion and experiential practices to explore finding the truth behind addiction. It presents a rich, powerful framework for self-inquiry and explores daily practices to enhance physical, mental and spiritual well-being. All proceeds raised from this event helps us bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to youth overcoming trauma.
We are raffling off amazing items at the workshop from Namaste Karma Collection Apparel, Barefoot Yoga Company, East West Bookstore, Yoga Tree Studio, Chaco Canyon Organic Café, Hothouse Spa & Sauna and more! All proceeds from the raffle help us bring yoga and mindfulness to youth overcoming trauma.
Nikki is an accomplished yoga therapist, teacher and somatic experiencing practitioner. She is the founder of CITYOGA School of Yoga and Health in Indianapolis and Y12SR (Yoga of 12-Step Recovery). From her personal struggles with addiction, Nikki is quick to tell the world, "The 12-step program and Yoga saved my life - one is my lifeboat, the other my launching pad."

WRITTEN BY DAVID HOLLEY
"As I continued into yoga, I was encouraged to take the 200 hour training (because we have no men teaching yoga.) The more that I learned I recognized a need in the kids at our middle and high schools about better focus, about slowing down, about breathing, about life that I felt could be met through yoga."
