"The heart that gives, gathers."
|
Dear friend,
Today, December 1st, is #GivingTuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global effort to kick-start the charitable season through collaboration. Giving Tuesday is observed every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It follows the popular shopping holidays Black Friday and Cyber Monday. As you make decisions about your giving for today and the remainder of 2015, keep Street Yoga in mind.
Everyone deserves access to the healing benefits yoga and mindfulness offer and Street Yoga helps facilitate that access. Once a young person learns how to focus their breath or feel safe in their bodies, we have empowered them with a skill set they can draw on for the rest of their lives. Yoga and mindfulness offer a toolkit for becoming centered, calm, in control, responsive instead of reactionary and with a sense of their individual purpose and inherent alive-ness. This is something that no one can ever take away from them no matter how transient or chaotic their life is, their economic status, family history, or their educational or career opportunities.
Street Yoga's Trauma-Informed Yoga Training and Weekly Class Programs make it possible for a gigantic ripple effect, spreading the benefits yoga and mindfulness offer across the country and the globe. We're asking you to join us in our efforts to make yoga available to everyone-- starting with young people who need it most. Below are a few suggested Giving Levels-- gifts of every size make a huge difference in our work and are greatly celebrated.

With great gratitude,
Everyone at Street Yoga
