Dear friend,

September is National Yoga Month.  To celebrate Street Yoga is hosting three events.  If you're in the Seattle area, we'd love to have you join us for one or more.

Town Hall | Thursday, September 10th 6-8PM
In October 2014 we moved Street Yoga's headquarters from Portland, OR to Seattle, WA.  Since then, we have welcomed new board members and formed 1, 3 and 5 year goals for the future of Street Yoga.  This event is also a great opportunity to connect with the Street Yoga community.

Yoga Class | Saturday, September 19th 10-11:15AM
Every month Street Yoga partners with a local studio and in September Tiger Lily Yoga of Rainier Beach is hosting a donation-based yoga class to support Street Yoga programming.  Studio owner, Emily Iverson, has written a blog post about the studio's commitment to community, yoga service and unique studio management practices. Read the article here.

Sound Bath Benefit | Monday, September 21st 7:30-9PM
The sound bath, through the use of crystal singing bowls, offers students the opportunity through the vibrational qualities of sound to release energy that is no longer serving them and move into deeper states of healing and relaxation.  This is much the same mission we have for young people who take Street Yoga classes.  We hope you join us for this wonderful event.  Ticket information here.

We hope to see you in September!

Warmly,
Everyone at Street Yoga

MAYA WHOLE HEALTH DONATION-BASED CLASS

When: Saturday, August 15, 5-6:15PM
Where: 1322 Lake Washington Blvd N Suite 3, Renton, Washington 98056
Cost: Pay what you can, all funds raised support Street Yoga
Teacher: Diana Reed

Diana began practicing yoga more than 15 years ago. Her personal practice grew into a desire to bring the benefits and wonder of a regular practice to everyone! Diana's passion to teach grows with every training, every workshop, every person who relates the story of life change as a result of yoga. Trained in Hatha, Prana Flow, Trauma Sensitive, and Senior Yoga, Diana believes yoga is meant for every body, every ability, and every state of being. Transformation is a breath away. When she's not on the mat, Diana can be found somewhere in the forest connecting to the universe through nature's glory.
Words that inspire her:

"There's a part of every living thing that wants to become itself: the tadpole into the frog, the chrysalis into the butterfly, a damaged human being into a whole one."
--- Ellen Bass

RENEW. REVIVE. RETREAT.

A day of respite for caregivers.  Make space for a day of physical, emotional and mental nourishment- a day away to rest, gather tools for self-care, reconnect with your motivation, and feel inspired to return to your caregiving role.

It is essential to take time for yourself when you spend much of your time caring for others. Yet, it can be difficult to have the time and money to do so. This retreat was designed especially for caregivers who are looking for the benefits of a retreat but can't spend hundreds of dollars to go away for a long weekend.

When: September 26, 2015
Where: Discovery Park Environmental Center
Cost: $80 including lunch; Group discounts available

Located in the city of Seattle, but in a beautiful and natural setting, you can take one day to let go of stress, relax, and connect with your joy. More info here.
