Dear friend,
Last month Hala Khouri led her Yoga for Trauma training in Seattle. Hala talks a lot about empowering the young people we serve to access resource. A resource can be as simple as feeling the floor beneath your feet to source the sense of being grounded, or feeling air enter and leave your lungs to bring you back into the moment. These two simple and profound examples are at the very heart of everything Street Yoga champions. We aim to give our young people a moment of calm and steadiness in the midst of chaos, transition, or strife.
Once a young person establishes a sense of calm, steadiness, and safety within their bodies, they are then able to feel joy, playfulness, and the fullness of being alive.
Our hope for you this month of March is that you feel the ground beneath your feet and the air in your lungs so that you are steady, present, and have a full sense of your aliveness.
With warm wishes,
Jessica & Stephanie
