Dear friend,
YogaLOVE is Street Yoga's biggest fundraiser and celebration of the Street Yoga community of the year-- and it's less than two weeks away! We hope you'll join us for a day of yoga, community and philanthropy!
At YogaLOVE we'll be practicing a full mala- 108 Sun Salutations led by nine fabulous Seattle's instructors! Call this the 1/2 marathon of yoga, and you get an idea of the energy of the event. Like a race this event is a sweat-filled, challenging and high energy; unlike a race, it's not a competition! We encourage listening to your body, taking breaks, and non-judgement!
So many young people long to do what we take for granted, get out on mats and stretch! Your support makes it possible for Street Yoga to bring yoga out of the studio and into the community-bringing the health benefits of yoga to young people who need it most!
In gratitude
Jessica & Stephanie

The practice of 108 Sun Salutations is intended to be a challenge-- physically and mentally. But it should also be safe and fun! Enid Spitz, one of YogaLOVE's co-teachers, wrote about her experience finding the balance between Tapas (fiery discipline) and Ahimsa (respectful non-violence). Find her reflections and practical tips for finding balance on and off your mat here.
Beautiful quote from the article: "As you flow, fly, float and falter, keep in mind: yoga is about balance. A flame with too much oxygen will be blown out, too little and it's smothered."
|

One of the unique pieces of YogaLOVE is that it's brought to you by nine local yoga teachers who represent more than 20 studios and gyms in the Seattle area. This is a great opportunity to "speed date" your yoga teacher and learn about the different styles at Seattle studios! See a blog article with access to their bios here.

We know that fundraising can feel daunting if you've never done it before-- that's why we created a packet of resources to help make the process easy and fun.
The first thing to do is create an individual fundraising page on First Giving. This is a platform that makes it super convenient to email your email contacts about supporting you.
Remember: The number one reason people give is because they were asked. Even if people have money to contribute and/or a strong connection to you or the cause: You have to ASK them to give.
