It's only spring, and our team has already racked up a number of key wins for our clients.

We've put our clients in a position to win work, filed a lawsuit to help uncover wage theft, landed a number of high-profile news articles for contractors and labor groups, and recovered significant dollars in back pay and benefits to workers cheated out of fair wages.

We are proud to be making a difference in the lives of working families, and we expect to share more good news about our efforts in the coming weeks and months.

Sincerely,

GR builds essential relationships for clients

Relationships matter when it comes to developing business opportunities. Our GR team works diligently to put clients in front of key decision makers.

We recently attended the Topping Off Ceremony for the West Valley Resort and Casino. Our GR team helped get the project off the ground and put signatory contractors in the best position to win the work.

Effort to uncover wage theft on NASA project goes before federal appeals court

We continue to fight federal agencies attempting to conceal wage theft. This month, our firm took legal action in order to uncover the true wages paid on a NASA project to ensure compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act.

In TCLG v. NASA, Case No. 14-17303, we asked the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to require NASA to disclose certified payrolls for work performed on Phase 4 of the Revitalize KSC Water and Wastewater System. During Phase 3, NASA provided records, and TCLG uncovered nearly $300,000 of unpaid wages.

In Phase 4, NASA claimed it could not remove or segregate the private or confidential information on the records. We don't agree. We'll keep you posted on the case.

TCLG's public relations team already secured many media placements this year.

A huge win was placing our clients on the cover of The Ironworker magazine. The story highlighted the innovation of signatory contractors and Ironworkers on the San Diego library dome project.

Our team also secured a feature article in Engineering News Record that highlights the work of SMACNA-Arizona member Katie Watson-Cruz. Through our PR efforts, Watson-Cruz was honored as one of ENR Southwest's Top 20 Under 40. The list recognizes leadership and innovation in the construction industry.

DOL's Wage & Hour administrator discusses enforcement priorities at TCLG

Torres Consulting and Law Group held a special reception on March 18, providing clients an opportunity to meet U.S. Department of Labor Regional Administrator Ruben Rosalez.

Rosalez, who discussed division priorities and enforcement efforts, oversees the DOL's Wage & Hour Division Western Region office in San Francisco. His region covers California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and other western states.

TCLG holds reception for ROC director

TCLG held a special meet-and-greet with Jeff Fleetham, the recently appointed Director of the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC). Many top contractors and labor leaders packed our firm's office to hear Mr. Fleetham discuss the state agency's priorities. The ROC licenses and regulates contractors.

Jessica Fotinos leads community group

In addition to fighting for worker wages, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Director Jessica Fotinos works to build a better community.

After years of service with the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS, Jessica became chairwoman of the research and support group this year.

We're proud to see her make a difference for families in Arizona.
