21st National Symposium Call for Presentations
The National Partnership for Juvenile Services is pleased to issue a "Call for Presentations" for our upcoming 21st National Symposium on Juvenile Services being held September 27 - October 1, 2015 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the Wyndham Grand Hotel. To make this Symposium a success, we need juvenile services professionals to share their experiences and expertise.
Prospective workshop presenters are encouraged to submit proposals on a variety of topics including, but not limited to Current & Emerging Issues for the Juvenile Justice Practitioner, PREA Issues and Updated, Training and Performance Improvement for Staff, Implementing & Evaluating Effective Educational Strategies for Youth, Leadership Issues, Strategies for Understanding and Effectively Addressing DMC, Providing Services for Youth in Adult Facilities, and Community-Based Services.
Call for Presentations
National Report on Juvenile Offenders and Victims Now Available
The National Center for Juvenile Justice, the research division of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, has released "Juvenile Offenders and Victims: 2014 National Report." This OJJDP-funded report presents data and research on juvenile offending and victimization and explores the juvenile justice system's response. The report includes comprehensive information on juvenile population characteristics, juvenile victims, juvenile offenders, juvenile justice system structure and process, law enforcement and juvenile crime, juvenile offenders in court, and juvenile offenders in corrections. This is the fourth report in a series on juvenile crime, juvenile victimization, and the juvenile justice system.

Blended Learning Initiative Seeks Applicants
The Center for Educational Excellence in Alternative Settings (CEEAS) is accepting applications from state juvenile justice agencies to participate in Unjammed 2.0, a blended learning initiative that supports schools inside juvenile secure care facilities. Unjammed 2.0 helps agencies tackle policies that prevent Internet use for educational purposes and train and equip teachers with technology-enhanced learning tools to transform school culture and improve student outcomes. Submit an expression of interest form to CEEAS by March 4, 2015.
