JUVENILE LAW CENTER YOUTH ADVOCATES
USE MULTIMEDIA PROJECT TO ADDRESS FOSTER CARE ISSUES

"They kept trying to place me with family, which I didn't want. I didn't feel like I had a voice in choosing my placements."

This sentiment was echoed by members of Youth Fostering Change who participated in a panel discussion on foster care earlier this month. This topic - that many teens and young adults in foster care struggle with their placement - was the focus of a recent Youth Fostering Change multimedia project.

As part of their project, Youth Fostering Change advocates created two printable guides for youth and their caseworkers. The youth advocates also created and starred in The Willy Show, an episodic, talk-show style video project that illustrates the key recommendations outlined in guides.
