PREA Compliance

Last week, the Bureau of Human Services Licensing distributed the announcement below.

 

This message applies to providers licensed under 55 Pa.Code Ch. 3800 (Child Residential and Day Treatment Facilities).

 

Dear Human Services Provider,

Attached, please find an important announcement from the Bureau of Human Service Licensing regarding the Prison Rape Elimination Act.

 

Questions or comments about this announcement can be directed to the Operator Support Hotline at 1-866-503-3926.

  

In response, JDCAP will shift the focus of our annual conference to offer an agenda that will help providers across the state plan and prepare for PREA Compliance

Committee Meetings

The next JDCAP Training Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday July 11 10AM to 2PM at the Abraxas Academy. The training committee will be sent a proposed agenda in advance of this meeting. We are expecting a full agenda and lively discussion.

 

The next JDCAP Standards Committee meeting is scheduled for Wed June 19 (10:00 AM) at the Abraxas Academy in Morgantown PA. During this meeting, we will review the Health Care standards.

Webinar for Faith-Based and Community Leaders: Helping Children of Incarcerated Parents

On July 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. ET, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the U.S. Department of Justice Center for Faith-Based & Neighborhood Partnerships (CFBNP) will present the Webinar "Faith in Action: Working with Children of Incarcerated Parents."

 

OJJDP To Host Live Chat on DMC Best Practices

On June 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. ET, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention's (OJJDP's) State Training and Technical Assistance Center (STTAC) will host a 1-hour live chat on disproportionate minority contact (DMC) that will focus on prevention and systems improvement strategies. Andrea Coleman, OJJDP's DMC Coordinator, will discuss best practices as they pertain to arrests/referrals to court in the juvenile justice setting.
