Juvenile Justice Stakeholders

JDCAP is hosting a statewide stakeholder meeting on June 12 from 10 AM - 2 PM to discuss Repurposing Juvenile Detention and Juvenile Justice Facilities.

In an effort to plan for continued accessibility of secure juvenile detention beds in PA, JDCAP members would like to engage key juvenile justice stakeholders in an open discussion to determine how our facilities may be in the best position to repurpose staff and or facilities to assure sustainability.

We recognize that detention utilization has continued to decrease for many good reasons, however we also believe secure detention must remain as an available resource for high-risk youth.

We are extending this open invitation to key stakeholders as well as individuals who influence policy and we ask that you respond with your availability.

During the first portion of the meeting, we will offer a presentation showing results of a nationwide survey of juvenile detention facilities who have responded to decreasing populations.

During the second half of the meeting, we will engage PA stakeholders in open discussion to clarify your needs and solicit suggestions for how best to move forward.

We hope to identify ideas about how to engage our members in supporting efforts toward PA's Juvenile Justice System Enhancement Strategy.

The meeting will be held:

Date: Wednesday June 12, 2013

Time: 10 AM - 2 PM

Location: Holiday Inn Morgantown

6170 Morgantown Road

Morgantown, PA 19543
phone: 610.286.3000

Holiday Inn Website

A room block is available for folks interested in overnight accommodations.
