Conference Award Nominations
We will feature a nomination submitted for each category weekly. The list of award winners was included in the October 9 issue of the JD reCAP.

Below is nominations received for McArthur Mosley, Shuman Juvenile Detention Center - Rookie Staff Person of the Year.

As a supervisor, along with the full support of his peers and colleagues I would like to submit for nomination, McArthur Mosley, for "ROOKIE STAFF PERSON OF THE YEAR".

Mr. Mosley has been employed as a Youth Care Worker at Shuman Juvenile Detention Center for the past eighteen months. During that short period of time he has distinguished himself by his ability to handle our most aggressive residents with a minimum of drama.  The fact that the Youth Care Workers and supervisors voted him "Rookie of the Year" for 2012 is a testament to his observed abilities and the respect he has earned among his peers.  Mr. Mosley is a movie buff and as such usually during some point in training throws out a trivia question that becomes the topic of debate during the break time.

Mr. Mosley rarely calls off and is committed to being a role model for the residents he serves. He regularly holds group sessions in the unit and is realistic in explaining life lessons to the residents. Mr. Mosley always has a cheerful greeting for everyone he sees and interacts with peers and supervisors in a professional manner.
