Out on a Limb
....the birds of the air can perch in its shade. Mark 4: 30-32

"Hello" and "Thank You" for subscribing to our e-newsletter!

About 3 weeks ago, we were blessed with another addition to our Mustard Seed family.  Many of you have met our adopted daughter, Cocoa.  She's 15 years old and she had yet another baby (I think this is her 5th) on Mother's day.  She was an entire month overdue, so we were very concerned before the birth.  Fortunately, when we arrived in her room to check on her that Sunday morning, there she was with a new baby boy!  We praise God that both she and her baby were in excellent health and everything seemed to be fine (other than the mess left behind, of course :-).

We asked Cocoa if she had thought of any names and she just gave us a blank stare...she can be a real ass on occasion!  We weren't anymore sure of a name than Cocoa, so we decided to do a naming contest on Facebook and eventually selected the name "Nacho".  (Since all of the other asses around here are named after some sort of food, it just seemed right).

This newsletter is a formal introduction of Nacho.  His full legal name on his birth certificate (registration) will be "Nacho Ordinary Ass".  And he isn't any ordinary ass, his bloodlines date back all the way to when miniature donkeys were first imported from the island of Sardinia off the coast of Italy.  Someday, he will likely become a famous herd sire, but for now he's just our cute little baby donkey.  Please come visit him, he loves meeting new friends just as much as we do.

While you're here, take some time to notice some of the other animals around our place.  If you look thoroughly, you'll see a cat, 100's of fish, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Canadian Geese, a Merganser or two, Killdeer, nesting Osprey, chickens, frogs, toads, etc...  Our site hosts all sorts of God's creation.

That reminds me...part of our Vision statement for our company is to connect people to God's creation.  More than that, we hope to be used by God to connect others to Him.  When I look at His creation, I can't help but see His handiwork everywhere.  When you watch Nacho run, for instance, you'll see that he was meant to run.  Though his legs be only 4 weeks old, he darts about at full speed as if he has been running forever.  Nacho seems to innately know how to do what God created him to do, but what about us humans, what were we meant to do?

Next month, I'll share some of my thoughts...until then, feel free to send me your thoughts and perhaps I can share them as well.

As always...

Carpe Diem for Christ,
Mark Halla
