"Hello" and "Thank You" for subscribing to our e-newsletter!

As I write this greeting, the snow is blowing at a feverish rate, there are swirls & drifts popping up everywhere.  The sun is shinning but it's very deceiving.

I look forward to seeing many of you very soon and I hope you enjoy some of the many changes we've made this winter at the garden center.  I think you will be pleased with the new changes and the expanded offerings!

No matter how long the cold weather lasts or how hard life gets this year, I'm going to let go and I'm going to let God take care of the details...I'm going to be joyful always, because I'm going to pray continually, and I'm going to give thanks in all circumstances... because that is what God wants me to do.  Will you join me?

Happy Snow Day!

As you sow, so shall you reap!

Olds SeedAre you getting the urge to get your fingers in the dirt and put that "green thumb" back to work?  Although it's too early to haul the rototiller out to the garden, it's not too early to start seed shopping!  Many vegetable, herb and flower seeds can be planted inside and then transplanted outside when the garden soil begins to warm.  Broccoli, cauliflower, peppers and tomatoes are just a few of the vegetables that can be started inside.

Stop into the Mustard Seed Garden Center to pick up your supplies.  You'll find a wide selection of flower and vegetable seeds, including certified organic & some heirloom seeds!
Once you have your supplies, just clear a space in your home in front of a sunny window (southern exposure is best) and get your fingers ready.  (You may want to do a few finger stretches to wake them up after a long winter of hibernating in mittens.)  You may find that some of the plants, such as tomatoes, may need to be transplanted into a larger container before being planted outside.  Reading the back of the seed packet will give you the best information on when it's best to start that plant inside. If you need to transplant, lift the seedling and soil out of the cell and transplant it into one of our three-inch biodegradable pots using some additional bulk growing mix.  Finally, when the outdoor soil has warmed up, transplant the biodegradable pot directly into the garden and start anticipating a flavor-filled salad!  Now doesn't that sound perfect?  Actually soup sounds perfect to me right now!

Graduation sneaking up on you?

You're not alone!  Although we all have approximately 18 years to plan for our children's High School graduation, most of us wait until the last minute before we prepare our homes and yards to entertain perhaps hundreds of friends and family.
Roughly 80% of our clients "forget" about their upcoming graduation celebration until it's nearly upon them, sometimes allowing less than one month to build that new patio or fire pit, gazebo or deck.  With the stress and expense that seems to come naturally when we prepare for such special occasions, may we suggest you start planning NOW!
Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer or totally hands off, whether you have 4 weeks or 4 years, we are happy to help in any way we can.  Having gone through a graduation party ourselves, and guilty of waiting to plan until the last moment, we have the empathy and experience required to meet your needs, your budget and your time frame. To help motivate you we are offering a mulch special.  See the coupon at the bottom of this newsletter.
 Congratulations and Good Luck!
