Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't believe it is Thanksgiving already.  I probably say that every year and soon I'll be saying I can't believe it's 2014!

In the last newsletter I dwelled on the word ENOUGH.  With visions of the traditional Thanksgiving table in my mind I feel there will certainly be enough for all to eat and then hear, "Oh, I ate too much."   I am guilty of forgetting for awhile that there are families that will not have a table full of food.  Perhaps you know a family like this or have made a contribution to help a family like this.  I want to thank you for making a difference in someone's life and for trying to ensure they have enough to fulfill their needs.

I have also been pondering the gifts I will be giving for Christmas.  I wonder if I have enough for everyone and if I forgot anyone.   As we set the store for Christmas we came across the Toys for Tots drop off boxes and it made my heart sink for a moment.  My heart sank even more as we watched a video about Operation Christmas Child at church before packing our shoeboxes.  The level of having enough sure has a different meaning to different people.

As you spend time with family and friends this Thanksgiving I pray that you have enough love that surrounds you and you feel blessed beyond measure and that you are able to share that love with others.

Thank you very much for subscribing to our newsletter and for sharing your love with us.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

Kelly Lorenz

In Season

Enjoy your backyard birds

Winter is arriving, and, if are an FOB, Friend Of Birds, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reports that winter is the time to change the composition of bird foods offered and maybe the arrangement of your feeders. This will aid in the birds' survival and increase your viewing enjoyment in the snowy months ahead. The DNR also suggests that you can keep all of your birds healthy by cleaning your feeders regularly. In addition, the DNR says it is relatively easy to plan for winter bird feeding. There are three main choices of food: large seeds, small seeds, and suet. Stop by The Mustard Seed for bird food, an assortment of bird feeders and other bird-feeding supplies. The chickadees, cardinals, nuthatches and others who stop by your feeders will thank you.
