*Open to anyone with basic Expressive Arts Training

*Practical skills to sustain you and expand your
work with others

Based on the core practices in our e-book - Ten Steps to a Personal Expressive Arts Practice - this intensive will explore the relationship between nourishing our own creativity and facilitating others. The two go hand-in-hand, and, throughout our 4 days together we will be exploring the challenge of how to maintain a balance that maximizes both our personal well being and our professional effectiveness. We have created 10 core practices that both nourish us and can be easily shared with others in a wide variety of settings.

You will:

*learn ten core expressive arts practices for self renewal and nourishment.

*learn how to apply and adapt those core practices into facilitating others in a wide variety of settings.

*bring your own specific questions about your work and use the small group and team of 3 faculty to brainstorm.

Our work together in this pilot intensive will become the material for our next publication, which will focus on the professional applications of these core personal practices. If you choose, some of your artwork, writing, and experience will be included in this book, as you will be charting this territory with us.

What else do you need to know?

*Before we consider facilitating another, it is essential that we know the territory and are doing the work ourselves.
Having our own personal practice is a requirement for being an effective facilitator. Anything we ask another to do, we must have already experienced ourselves. Art can take us to deep places. Being engaged in a sustaining exploration of our own deep places enhances our ability to be a skilled and ethical guide for others.

*This is a practical, hands-on training,
You will learn some basic yet profound expressive arts practices that will both sustain you personally and apply to your professional settings.

*Using our e-book as a starting point, you will learn some tested processes and a system for adapting them effectively to your work with others.

*You will engage in a series of original multi-modal experiences that can be applied to a wide variety of settings with a range of populations and ages. Individual and group applications will be addressed.

*Expect this intensive to add significantly to your toolbox of highly adaptable and flexible expressive arts practices to use in your unique setting. Hands-on practice and feedback will be included.

* Learning will be a combination of didactic and experiential.

*You will learn effective steps for adapting expressive arts to diverse settings, and have an opportunity to practice and improve facilitation skills.
